An upgrade that consumes eighty percent of your remaining Path of Exile 2 Currency for ten percent more damage is poor value if ordinary Ritual waves already die quickly. Treat those figures as a spending test, not measured market data. In Forbidden Rites, your next purchase should remove the obstacle limiting successful runs, rather than polish damage you rarely need.
Buy Progress Before Chasing Uniques
Campaign Rituals supply equipment and crafting currency, while special boss sequences carry defeated bosses into later encounters and unlock Unique rewards after completion. That distinction matters: ordinary encounters support immediate progression; boss chains demand a character capable of surviving escalating pressure. Neither guarantees the particular item your build needs. Spend early rewards on functional improvements you can feel immediately. Reliable movement, sufficient recovery, and fewer interrupted attacks can outperform another offensive affix when your actual problem is staying active through a crowded encounter.
The equipment itself may not survive the transition into high tier maps. Its useful return is the progression it enables: earlier access to better farming areas and less time repeating failed encounters. Judge temporary gear by that service, not its eventual resale value.
A Recovery Socket Deserves a Second Look
My overlooked budget candidate is the Soul Core of Jiquani. Socketed into a Martial Weapon, it restores five percent of maximum life on kill and has a limit of one. Its attraction is conditional: consider it when available within your budget and when your build can spare the socket. A damage focused guide can reasonably pass over this effect because it contributes nothing to a clean damage calculation. For an attack character entering maps, however, repeated kills can provide recovery between incoming hits. That is a useful pairing with monster waves, rather than a universal defensive solution.
Its strongest stage is the campaign to early mapping transition, when packs die reliably but recovery still feels inconsistent. It can outperform another damage socket if that recovery prevents repeated retreats. It does not solve isolated boss encounters, and players already clearing safely should keep their offensive option.
Single Tablet Clears Beat Premature Scaling
Sacred Blooms add Wildwood access to Atlas map clusters; collected Wisps strengthen map monsters and improve rewards. Multiple Ritual Tablets can add an extra Altar where possible and increase collected Wisp quantity. Those benefits also make clear consistency worth testing before increasing investment. Use this comparison as a planning framework, not a claim about fixed profits.
| Decision | Single Tablet | Multiple Tablets | | Best audience | Developing characters | Established farmers | | Resource priority | Equipment upgrades | Encounter scaling | | Success condition | Consistent completion | Manageable empowered packs | The single Tablet approach wins for players still correcting equipment weaknesses. Multiple Tablets become the stronger candidate only when additional rewards outweigh extra supplies, slower clears, and unsuccessful attempts. Compare completed runs across similar sessions before committing.
Set an Upgrade Order You Can Actually Fund
Record completion time and recovery problems before changing your investment.
Choose Tribute rewards that address an identified equipment gap.
Test one difficulty increase before purchasing supplies for repeated runs.
Keep enough resources available to replace your weakest equipment slot.
Royal Lenience lets previously offered Tribute fund item deferral, but at a substantially increased cost. Treat it as an expensive fallback for an exceptional reward, not your default spending plan. Whether evaluating earned currency or comparing cheap POE 2 Chaos Orbs, identify the upgrade and its purpose first. Fund reliable completion before pursuing maximum encounter scaling.
